MATERIAL USED FOR TRANSMISSION
LINE EQUIPMENT
Parts in contact with aluminium alloy
conductors should be made of aluminium
to prevent fretting corrosing. Suspension
clamp , stain clamps , spacers , parallel
grove clamps etc are cast from aluminium
or aluminium alloys. Aluminum being a
good conductor material, aluminum clamps
afford high short circuit resistance and
largely eliminate inherent losses, as
they are non magnetic.

The flowing parts are mainly made of
steel.
Drop Forged Steel - All insulator
string accessories subject to pull (sag)
load such as Ball link, Double Eye Clamps
etc.
Sheet Steel - Yoke Plates.
Flat Bar Stock - Suspension are
Yoke Shackles Extension Links.
Round Bar or Tubular Stock - Arcing
and Guard fittings.
Screw Steel - Rivet head bolts,
Thereaded bolts etc.
All steel components are hot dip galvanized
conforming to BS-729
|
Forged accessories are manufactured from
EN-8 frade steel duly mormalized Rivets
threaded bolts and screw are supplied
in steel of grade EN-2 special order in
grade 8.8 all parts are hot dip galvanized.
Soceo threads being of specified sized
after galvanizing.

Malleable cast iron is used in particular
for accessory parts for Earth Wire eg.
Suspension Clamps and Tension Clamps and
Tension Clamp from Malleable Cast Iron.
All Malleable Cast Part are Galvanized
confirming to BS.729.

GALVANIZING STEEL
AND MALLEABLE IRON CASTINGS
|
Hot zine galvanizing is considered to
be the most effective protective coating
for steel and malleable cast iron under
normal conditions. That is why we exclusively
use hot galvanizing wherever possible.
A farther advantage of this protective
method that zine remains relatively inert
against other metals such as aluminium
or copper, so that it can be brought into
direct with them without reservation.
To ensure that dimension of bolts, holes
eyes, clevises etc. will be accurate after
galvanizing, blanks are made accordingly,
ie. screw threads are cut undersize, hexagons
of socket head fasteners are pressed oversize.
Galvanizing and the corresponding test
are carried out according to BS-729 specification
and renowned international Standards.
